About the film: “Dr. No”

Three men – dubbed "the three blind mice" because they pretend to be blind – kill local SIS contact John Strangways and his secretary in Jamaica. Strangways was working with the CIA to investigate a mysterious jammer used to sabotage launches at Cape Canaveral.

The film was produced by Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman. The film was released during the Cuban Missile Crisis and President John F. Kennedy is said to have said about the film: I wish I had James Bond on my staff. This partly led to the film becoming a great success. The film proved to be a trendsetter and many directors would adopt the concept of a gentleman spy taking on a megalomaniac villain in a hideout.
